I’m so dispirited today

January 20, 2010
  1. The Democratic party SUCKS ASS.
  2. Massachusetts sucks ASS. Way to go ASSHATS. (ETA: Or, Masshats or Massholes, thanks to Lindy and J.Fred…)
  3. With the inauguration of Chris “Goomba” Christie, NJ sucks just as bad, and it will impact me only a daily basis. Fuck you too NJ.
  4. God is also sucking today – way to continue to kick a country that is already down!
  5. I’m frustrated that all my efforts toward things I really care about seem to be coming to naught – see parenthood and motivating unmotivated children to learn, or buy in to the idea that they are the masters of their own destiny – you know, captain at the helm, the FRICKIN’ bus driver of their own life?  See my picture above the caption “example of abysmally failing at that…”
  6. ETA: Also…my children’s school district can also SUCK it.  While imperfect, my kids are perfectly themselves and are not cut out by cookie cutters – they are not one size fits all. Thank you for needlessly making their lives a living hell. Really. I’m ever so grateful.

Now…before I receive a boat load of platitudes about appreciating what I have (a job, a democracy, freedom to vote, freedom of speech, not living on a fault line, children who are healthy enough to cause trouble…), just save it and let me vent, because today, it all just sucks, it’s pissing me off to no end, and I need to let it out.

I’ll work on rationalizing and feeling better about it later.

I’d kick something, but I’m wearing the wrong shoes.

Please, the correct term is “Masshole”.

I agree that the Democratic party seems to be hell-bent on self-destruction. I am beginning to think it’s time to bite the bullet, follow the lead of Bernie Sanders, and register as a socialist.

“Masshole” is also working for me…

      Democrasshats…Democrassholes…those will work too.

Oh..and N-JAsshats and N-assholes will work well for ChristASStic NJ as well…

Asshattery of asshattery, says the Teacher,
Asshattery of asshattery! All is asshattery.

This too shall pass. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.

    What’s a “goomba”?

To me that phrase means North Jersey Good Old Boy, although it has lots of meanings. You could google the term if you’d like.

I googled and I didn’t get much of an answer. Could you be a little more specific?

Nothing good to kick here…although..I have a few likely targets in mind.

I spent Tuesday night and Wednesday living with a wife whose attitude was very similar to yours. She never reads blogs, and I don’t think she could find mine on a bet, but the post I made Wednesday was addressed specifically to the dispirit you (and she) exhibit.

The answer, you see, comes from Leonard Cohen. “There is a crack in everything; that’s how the light gets in.”

WE are part of God’s plan. We strive to fix those cracks, and we’d be bored to tears if we didn’t have cracks to fix. More important, if there weren’t cracks to fix, God wouldn’t need us.

The good news? The latest polls show 75% of the american people really like Obama. They just dislike the policies of the party – and if you pay much attention to the Harry and Nancy Show currently playing in Congress, you might realize why. The almost-as-good news? As much as people hate the Democrats, they’re still three times as popular as Republicans.

So instead of Democrats complaining about how Obama isn’t whupping GOP ass, perhaps the rest of the Democrats should be doing what Obama is doing. Scott Brown’s campaign in Massachusetts was markedly similar to Obama’s in 2008 – and he voted for universal health care in Massachusetts, and he’s pro-choice. He’s done the Democrats a big favor, if they would only open their eyes and see what it is that voters want.

Sighs..yes, yes, yes. This is all VERY true…

Taps my foot in annoyance. I hate that…I was trying for just being PISSY, and now you have to go and get all reasonable on me Harle, and take all the piss out of my vinegar.

      Sighs more.

Oh..and thanks! (for lowered my blood pressure some!)

So how much trouble would it be to bring kickin’ shoes to work?

And when will Obama figure out that he should fire Rahm’s ass and replace him with Howard Dean?

It wouldn’t be hard at all…just need something pointy…

As for when Obama will whatever, who knows??? I give it over to the Gods of capricious fate, which is what it seems like he’s relying on sometimes….

hi Episcopalifem! I say vent! Better out than in.

    • episcopalifem permalink*
January 24, 2010 5:14 pm felt good to let that all out.

  10. January 26, 2010 12:44 pm

When it’s time to vent, vent. Nothing wrong with that.

However, you might find political nonsense less troublesome if you join me here at 30,000 feet of superiority. Having spent 40 years in the “right”, and now dwelling in the “left,” it’s easy to spot that the political machinations of the full-spectrum are far more alike than different, which, of course, leads to futility — political power comes — political power goes. If I stress about that, I don’t have peace. So, my focus is on what I can do where I am.

You don’t get that “luxury” with your local school district. Be sure to kick some ass when the situation calls for it.

Finally, someone who understands me!!!!! Yes, NJ does suck, but can it be any other way with all of those crooked politicians that work there>
At least Massachusetts has a good looking senator. You can see a old picture of him (chest, biceps and all) on

Obama’s Q&A with the GOP had to make you feel better, though, right? He toasted their asses over a slow-roasting fire, and it was fun to behold.

Yeah..I guess I’m feeling better about that – it’s just the “politician” thing in general that is leaving a nasty taste in my mouth..I’m sure it will pass, and I’ll get over it.
