Some recent posts out in blogland have brought this to mind:

May 1, 2007

What with Asshat Greg Griffiths poking fun at non-Episcopal spiritual seekers in the context of the wider Episcopal strife, and the other posts around blogland talking about the plans of the reasserters to assert themselves as the Supreme True Anglicans in Ahmurrica, I felt this bumper sticker was appropo.

I wonder who Christ would be throwing out of the communion, if he was among us directly to sort it all out.

We are all part of the Body. We all bring something necessary to God’s family. ALL OF US – the Sufis, the Atheists, the Baptists, the Hindus, the Muslims, the Jews, etc.

Updated to add…AND the JUFISCOPALIANS, of course!

Lord love a duck!

Ya know, from what I understand, Jesus is the one who gets to decide who is in and who is out. No one from Pittsburgh gets to decide, no one from Nigeria gets to decide, no one from Rome, Constantinople, or Canterbury gets to decide, and, most shocking, no one from Panama gets to decide; only that guy crucified in Palestine who rose again and appeared to his followers in Jerusalem and Galilee (and that boffo appearance on the road to Damascus) gets to decide who is in and who is out and who is getting into heaven and who won’t.
