From Resident Poet Bill – Something he whipped up after his female friends’ wedding.

A Lover’s Dream

I am slowly pulled,
From the depths of sleep,
By winter’s chill.
The blanket is gone.
Wrapped cocoon like,
My lover sleeps on.

I lean over, putting my face
Into her hair,
I inhale the heady fragrance
I know so well
Soap, musk, perfume
The fire within re-kindled.

Moving inch by inch
Like the jungle predator
I ease under the covers,
Closer and closer,
Warmth joining warmth,
Two sinuous curves merging.

And then, when the two have become one,
And the breathing synchronized
Into a single in and out.
My hand closes on soft flesh.
My head eases down to the pillow,
And slowly, I drift and dream.

The ceremony was not announced. I was there for LEM training and an introduction to the altar guild. The next thing we all knew, we were part of the wedding (civil union) party. Ok, I cried, so what. It was a very quiet (except for the two year olds running around), simple, lovely ceremony. There was no doubt but that these two very special people were deeply in love.
