I’ve been tagged by Kay for the latest meme, based on and inspired by the book “unChristian.” Here’s the rules:
List four things about Christians – three negative perceptions and one thing that Christians should be known for.
1) Christians are judgemental and self-righteous.
2) Christians are closed-minded.
3) Christians care more about the letter of the law, then how the law gets applied in reality.
4) Christians should be known for being forgiving – for seeing that we all struggle with our humanity as we strive for more divinity in our ordinary lives.
For this one I’ll tag David R., Donald D. and Kirstin
As with all my tags, play or not as you wish.

Light A Candle
Interesting! Can I have a go?
1. Christians care more about their reputations than their integrity.
2. Christians care more about their men than their women.
3. Christians pretend to care but don’t.
4. Christians possibly don’t care more than others, but still defer to a God who does.
I agree with all your points, although I’d have far more to say about 3, having converted from Judaism in part because of its legalism, and discovering to my horror that most Christians are even worse.
I’d also add a 3.5, that Christians are ignorant, proud of their ignorance, and don’t care to find out what the world around them is actually like.
Grace – Good ones. I like #2.
Pisco…sadly, your 3.5 is also true.
3.75: They can swallow an awful lot of camels, but they give themselves spiritual hemorrhoids straining out gnats.
Sorry, Eileen, I’ve not been ignorning this, I have just been overwhelmed with children…my god daughter (6), her brother (4) and their parents (my best friends) are camping out at my place for a couple of weeks. Ahem…let’s see…Christians…Muuhahahaha.
1. Sweat the small stuff and thereby often miss the big picture and themselves along with it.
2. Insist on trying to Interpret 2,000 year old literature literally.
3. Muddle personal responsibility in an era of Grace with “morality” and the era of Law.
4. Mad, unconditional and infinite love.
Hope that’s not too offensive…but you asked for it.
Not too offensive at all Donald. I particularly like point #1.
And point #4.
Good luck with all the kidlets…I live with a couple under foot each day.
